Occupation is already a pretty bad thing, I think if its too unforgiving it will create an undesired effect at killing the larger nations. it would make revolts difficult too, as too much time would be spent keeping the nation alive and not prepping revolt.

If your suggestion was to go ahead, it should be based on active players... as not to force older players to no life the game constantly in order to have a fighting chance.

other than the fact that u failed and lost the siege, 100% of town resources going to the occupier is the worst part about occupation. the other effects aren't that bad, so i don't see how it's too unforgiving. basing on active players is a good idea tho i do agree

Many problems here
1-) You get occupied you are poor but has 200 town claims with many people vs a guy called Imrich with 500K and 50 plots in a town, in a smaller nation. I am going to say what will admin say "it is very hard to implement and not a very good idea/it will not improve noticably" (thats my assumption I am not making fun of admins here".

The downside to being in a large nation is it's unstable and impossible to keep random town #124854832934832 from breaking off, they virtually always collapse in some way and constantly need massive amounts of force and resources to maintain.

This just sounds like someone who has never had to deal with occupation wanting to wipe players off the server, I'm not going to bother making it personal but I think I know exactly why you made this suggestion and your motivations behind it.

On top of this, why are large nations such a bad thing? The map is small, nations are of course going to congregate into larger federations that will morph and change over time. Siberium was a large nation of quite a few players that would've been absolutely destroyed by something like this, while large nations like Rome/Cultist/Japan/Thracia would just be made more miserable and have to grind more. This just sounds like an amazing way to make a bunch of people quit and allow pvpers to control the server even more than they already do.

Occupation shouldn't kill nations, it should give them something to fight for. It shouldn't hamper their growth, but offer an opportunity to grow faster. Towny resources are something you really don't have to work for, you get them from the server and they are taken away by the occupier, they're a bonus but not something you absolutely NEED to continue building your nation. They offer a bonus incentive to get unoccupied while not kneecapping your nation and destroying it through grinding attrition. Ccnet has a problem where most ways to make money are miserable to an almost hilarious extent, I would prefer to work a real-life job than to silver grind on Ccnet with absolutely no exaggeration, I have never heard of a single person enjoying it. Now imagine some fat cow occupying you and because you have 61 active players you are now being taxed a ridiculous amount of money that you simply can't pay without spending even more time miserably grinding in a bunker.

What would count as a "large nation?" Canada has 61 active players while Rome has 87, is the cutoff line right there? Should Oceanic be taxed much more than Rome with 128 players despite many of them being extremely new recruits that Oceanic recruited and are now getting to join the server? Should they just be fucked over and their towns taxed into oblivion because a *certain* nation occupies them? Should it be based on claim blocks where large player recruiting towns such as Halifax are discouraged from expanding, and the meta of "base towns" where one player resides and builds farms for all eternity only interacting with other players to buy binding runes off /ah and go to sieges is encouraged? No, neither of those options are good. There is no way to quantify "large nations" and there never will be.

Also, I'm assuming town banks will be taxed too under this suggestion, which is an even worse idea and would be bad even with the current tax rates.
