What good could come from it? first of it would reduce the amount of hoppers needed which will then also reduce lag produced by them :) . It would also make storage systems smaller for players therefore making it less neccesary to build disgusting walls around huge hopper chuncks.
Discussions are welcome since this change could be very nice for a lot of people so a balanced version of this suggestion could be found for the server team to maybe implement,
