I agree with this, and the reason i do so is because there was no real reason that this was implemented.

This basicly completely ruined the point of drilling/navaldrilling/howitzers/240mmcannons.

There is no such way to use them anymore because most of sieges or forts that get sieged are far in land which makes the naval drilling for example be used from 600 blocks or the 240mm cannons which need 500 blocks of range.

There was no serious reason that shells that get shot from 400 blocks away the siege should not do damage inside siegezone in the first place.

Now that the howitzers are fixed and cant be reloaded and shot at mach jesus. I heavily agree!!!!

I agree on the naval part but not on the 240s. I can't quite remember what it was that Zaify/Ineusia said for the reasoning for it (please feel free to remind me) but I do remember that I agreed with it.

I agree as well, the drilling should be done in non sessions as well and we should be allowed to drill down to bedrock again,sieges got too “Lazy” these days. (But this is for another suggestion)

Okay what the hell, no, that's ridiculous.

I think there should be an off session window where you can fire from and destroy the fort, i see it as like 45 minutes to rebuild (which i've only used the whole hour to manually build at prime livland sieges when every fort did manual repairs, but now most current forts use savestate repairs) but then a 45 minute lead up to the next session where it is enabled. I believe strongly that modern sieges feel less alive but i understand defenders NEED time to fix their fortifications, attackers could still tag them to harass repairs but not continue drilling. (I do have to disagree with Kapitan though because that would promote no lifeing and ccnet is an aging audience with jobs, partners, and school making that unrealistic to come back. (nxva if you are reading this and know howitzers you can get a shot off every 1-2 seconds)

The 240 meta while annoying at times was stupid easy to counter, it took like 1 shot to blow it all up and still took decent time to reach bunker promoting defenders needing to go away from the fort and zone to counter drilling. (movecraft being an encouraged way of doing this) if the defender MUST they could also counter cannon from the fort)

yes to bringing back naval and 240 drilling (+ a siege tag for those crafts based on whether they damaged inside the siege done (idk a lot about how that stuff works but if that was not possible whether the entity entered the zone should)

i agree with both naval drilling and 240s it would be nice to see more of drilling instead of mostly destroying cannons with heavies. However if people want the drilling to be enabled during off sessions so should be cannons otherwise the off session will change into a fight over 240s while with turrets you can shoot back at them

I disagree with both
240s range is around 500 blocks max, siege zone 400 blocks around the banner and banner is placed like 50 blocks away from fort so 450 blocks away, you are really close the max range with that, it is not that bad as described, it is just harder to do now because you cant place iron bars inside siege zones so you must print the cannons which is a fair price to pay if you want to drill someone's fort

drilling shouldnt be OP, attackers items are always safe while defenders are at risk of drilling which doesnt make sense imo, the inconvenience is a fair tradeoff

naval drilling outside siege zone means naval crafts are able to drill a fort without risking losing points (which they already do by standing at the edge of the siege zone)

a single dreadnought does a dozen times more damage than normal 240s cannons, and unlike 240s that can be easily 1 tapped as raptor mentioned, a dread needs a small fleet to just attempt sinking it, and that fleet will be heavily damaged if they succeeded, not to mention that the only way to counter naval drilling is naval crafts, unlike normal drilling where you can use fort turrets, naval drilling should actually be nerfed because of how low risk high reward it is
