This is tantamount to nerfing guns. You might as well cut their damage in half since every shot will now be twice as difficult to make.

Yes i am all for it, introduce friendly fire to guns and soon enough trying to go melee is going to mean you die getting shot at from both sides. Friendly fire on guns is probably more of a nerf to "swords" than it is for guns. Now going into melee is no longer viable and gun spamming from distance is your best bet, you don't wanna get into that line of fire. Grudges aside, i hope this gets playtested, we can only guess what will happen but im pretty sure nothing good comes out of it.

it would be interesting if melee also had friendly fire enabled, in theory it would make 1v8ing alot more difficult alongside group fights. Should be tested at a pvp region for an event or smth where all forms of friendly fire were disabled just to see how it would be

Yeah since sword combat was also realistic at the same age as guns tanks planes and whatnot. If you want to push towards realism then do it correctly by pushing it in all directions not just the one you dont like.

no its not, it would be if guns were better than swords but its other way around. Sword is needed and will be used, if you dont have a frontline you will get overrun easily



Overall having friendly fire in these conditions is very stupid and makes no sense. Other games that have friendly fire have combat and movement made in a whole another way so do not even compare it. CCnet combat is high mobility high health weird blob of crit spamming. Hitboxes overlap so many times its was practically impossible to hit enemies at all before it was added so that bullets pass through allies. I tested it myself and out of the 10 ammo mag of lee only like 2 bullets were landing on average. Now its slightly higher. Not everyone using a gun will land every shot in a magazine and not everyone using a sword will land every sword hit without getting hit back

If ranged weapons do friendly fire then they require different placement and formation to make them work. If you actually want to go towards that path then to make it work people need to move slower and to not overlap hitboxes as much which means removing all speed buffs from the game

right click crowd and hope you hit enemy -----> actually aim for the target and avoid hitting allies.
more skillful
more wonderful
more fun to deal with
more sensible
more strategistical

you do know that makes no sense? I would be more than happy if you can prove it via a video recording or any other way next big fight because it has been proven in gameplay to be otherwise. Before you could shoot through allies it was tested in an actual siege and shown that when shooting at a melee fight with a gun you get 4-5 friendly fire messages before hearing a ding (enemy hit sound), making it about 20% accuracy or less. After you could shoot through allies you still get one or multiple friendly fire messages per shot and not every shot lands on the enemy (maybe 50/50 i didnt count). This is all done by actually aiming at enemies since why would anyone shoot randomly and miss when you can aim for more damage.

All these suggestions come from a bad pov cause everything is busted and op when you are outnumbered. Everything is op when you dont do anything to deal with it. Unlike movecraft capping it does not require more people to counter it. In the scandinavia sieges where everyone actually showed up from both sides it seemed pretty fair and reasonable to deal with but it required a different approach that people didnt figure out just yet. Its not ok to nerf stuff when you lack teamfight capabilities and strategy. Everyone lacks it and it just takes time for people to start changing things they do and improving and these regions allow them to practice as long as everyone shows up
