I agree! Especially with the last part, sieges should not be just getting pvpers and standing on a banner. Side quests in sieges are what make them fun, currently we only see naval fights in naval siege regions which are not being contested currently due to the absurdity of the numbers difference.

Allowing ships to have more of a use in sieges would promote more movecraft usage, one of ccnets main selling points.

It is difficult to train a newbie show him all the cool stuff and naval combat then to tell him his entire use will be to sit on a ship and right click the enemy fort.

In my opinion naval requires the most skill out of all movecraft.

Tanks: design dependent and often 1v1s ping matters alot

Fighter and bombers: 20ms vs 200ms player , skill is evident but even a bad low ping player can beat a good high ping player.

Ifvs: no comment never used in combat.

Naval is such an incredible concept and I hate to see ccnet having well developed it but not using it actively.

It depends on the proposed range, 62 chunks would need to be ticked for a single shot at the proposed max range.

Navel shells can already travel quite a distance inland (assuming the chunks along it's trajectory can be loaded)

Having a TOOL that assists in the aiming procedure sounds doable

Rick, I made a suggestion a while back for the spyglass to be used for naval combat. Basically, it would act as a clock, but in it, there would be the range of whatever block you're looking at and the time it takes for the current armed gun's shell to hit that area.

By the way, for this, the pilot would aim at whatever they wanted to shoot, and the guns would automatically elevate or depress to get the proper trajectory to hit it. While this may sound overpowered, the spyglass has a very limited view scope, and hitting a moving ship with it would be near impossible. I suggest this more for hitting fortresses and other fortifications inland.

Do you guys remember the system people used at vanghun? The observers or spyglass or whatever to like imagine where you shoot? I think that was ashes idea but my brain isn't onrn

To expand on ashes suggestion I think it would be nice to add some sort of movement restriction while using the spyglass thing, to further prevent it becoming too overpowered

The spyglass thing could be nerfed with insane recoil?? It would be cool if you shot it and your ship moved like 20 blocks in any direction and rotated randomly

but i think that five 14 inch guns versus a tiny pony on banner is not very balanced

Yes, just add something like howitzer's /targetassist but for naval guns.

what about a map or something like that where you could interact with and attack with some range a secten coordinates like a designated strike zone
