Constant war in real life is not sustainable, yet it appears to be so in nations, war exhaustion could solve that.

Everytime a nation enters a siege, it would gain 10 levels of war exhaustion. Each level of war exhaustion a nation has the upkeep of all of its towns increases by 0.1%. nations lose a level of war exhaustion every towny day.

this is supposed to a small seemingly insignificant factor that can snow ball, to encourage nations to reconsider constantly joining sieges.

I think the issue is that people will make new nations for the express purpose of starting sieges and absorbing war exhaustion.

Creating rules to cover a gap in the system has already created so many burdens and headaches for players and staff. Better to think through a system solution instead of adding rules.

I don't really see any need for this if you have the supplies and the dedication from your people you should be able to keep fighting. We already have a peace week. And a immunity timer.

Something like this could work if there was a simple cooldown that new nations had before they could go to war, meaning it would be pointless to make a new nation for that purpose.

I don't, however, like the idea of increasing upkeep. That punishes players and towns who don't participate in warfare which is rather unfair.
