The world is full of ruins on wilderness, we should get rid of them.

Perfectly usable spots cant be taken because they have old towns on them. We need a system so those blocks get removed during the past of time if they are no longer inside claims, we can add exception blocks such as road blocks or railway blocks.

This can also solve another huge problem that we have: ocean polution. There are parts of the map that are almost impassable due to random blocks being around, such as the Red Sea, or shipwrecks all around the oceans.

I know part of those towns were important in the past and that they are "part of the history and lore", but we are preventing new cool tales to be created for the sake of closed chapters of our history.

And I know someone might say: "but you can remove them yourself" or "use a scrapyard". This problem affects mostly new players, or people that see our dynmap and consider our map "too messy". So please, take in consideration those ruins being there helps no one.

Woah, They did it, scientists have officially designed the worst suggestion, I wouldn't Be here if it weren't for the ruins of whatever antarctic nation lived before me, And it was awesome, And aesthetic, And it gave me motivation to leave behind better ruins when its my time

The issue is: how would you distinguish between 'ruins' and active wilderness infrastructure

(Staff can not be involved in any way to manually designate exceptions)

King as I stated in the post, I mentioned it could be added with an "exceptions blocks" for those blocks used for roads (the ones listed inhttps://wiki.ccnetmc.com/en/Movecraft/Roads) and railway blocks (https://wiki.ccnetmc.com/en/Movecraft/Nations/Train), so there shouldn't be any need of manual verification for this system.

ThatGuyRna thanks for the feedback, I didn't know there was any case in the server of people actively re-using old towns's ruins to stablish new towns. I'd like to see what the rest of the community thinks about this, in case there is a strong support on keeping things as they are we could re-drive this topic into creating a Block Decay System that could work only for cleaning the oceans, as its a problem that could be solved as well with this system.

Terrible idea from development perspective, very tedius, hard to maintain, requires copies of the world from multiple different states.

Perpltxed Towny comes with an option that works like what I suggested here. Its called "revert_on_unclaim" in config, it also comes with a "block_ignore" section where we can set the road type blocks and railway blocks so they dont get removed.

Although for what it seems it will not remove the current ruins in the map, but it will remove the new ones generated by the current & future towns created and deleted. It won't solve the oceans polution problem, but its something at least and easy to apply from the development team.
