This is not the current turret meta

The whole point of turrets is for them to sink for points, being able to destroy the actually cannon of the turret is good but you are physically unable to fully sink the turret for points. It just makes it so people are scared to pull out of movecraft because there is just no use for them since you can't sink the dam turret.

Making turrets cap at 75 blocks or something around that would make it so they can actually sink for points, as zaify intended.

(Not sure about you but i don't want to drill a whole fort to sink 1 turret)

It really doesn't matter if you disagree, this suggestion is wrong and not very sensible.

It's wrong because this not the current meta for fort turrets. I've personally inspected ~10 forts and this is not how they are designed, even ours aren't designed this way.

It's also wrong because it's not unsinkable. Of course it's going to feel like it's unsinkable when you use the most ineffective way to sink a turret.

It's not sensible because to build a functional 240mm turret using 3 cannons, for example, it takes 75 blocks (25 per cannon), which you're suggesting the max to be. Which means essentially removing most/all armor for turrets. I'm not sure you understand how detrimental this would be to ANY fort. Turrets would be able to be destroyed in 1-3 shots, including by Field Guns (which don't sink for points).

It's also not sensible because your fort is supposed to be a weapon. The fort is supposed to protect you/your nation, not the other way around. If you significantly limit the firepower of a fort, it's no longer a weapon to protect from occupation, it's just like an expensive eggshell.

There is a bad idea for everybody. This suggestion is very likely to not get implemented, especially to this degree, but just thought I'd share my thoughts.

P.S. - the reasons why turrets don't sink that often is because during a siege if you're in movecraft attacking a fort, there's multiple turrets/cannons firing at you. If you're trying to focus on sinking a turret whose cannons you've already destroyed, you're giving other turrets more chances to fire at you and sink you, which isn't smart.

75 is too small for even corvettes.

that just makes turrets useless. the cannons already get 1 tapped. that means its free turret sinks. and cannons are useless against movecraft then. you cant see tanks from behind the first layer of cannons due to the render distance limit.

They should change turret meta to make turrets even more indestructible
