The current Vassal Mechanic is completely useless, it costs 20 diplomatic points, they do the same as allying the nation, and don't give anything else, even if a nation wanted to have a vassal they wouldn't because the diplomatic points are insane, before it made a bit of sense giving extra claims allowing for bigger towns and boosting development, but nowadays, its just a forgotten mechanic, that completely serves as a waste of dp.
My suggestion to rework the mechanic are:
-Reduce the diplomatic points to vassal:
Reducing the diplomatic points to vassal or even removing the need to use diplomatic points, and just count the base points needed for allying would make it a more viable feature
-Adding perks for boosted growth:
Vassals could get perks like the past, extra claims, or upkeep reductions, or diplomatic point boost depending on the diplomatic stance or political stance (Democracy, Monarchy Autocracy etc), boosted nation rescources, etc, something that makes vassalage an actual geopolitical, could even be something else, just litteraly something that gives an actual reason to do it besides losing dp
-Adding new vassal mechanics:
New mechanics could be a thing, like if a vassal declares a siege or is sieged the overlord nation already joins without using dp, this makes sense as the overlord has to defend its vassals like it was their land
Another mechanic could be done, Im sure what, but if people feel like suggesting in the comments feel free, its just that the mechanic is litterally useless at the current point, and considering there was a point where ccnet had vassals diplomacy regarding them alliances fighting over them, I think it would be nice to rebalance the vassal system
