I've seen a lot of suggestions regarding this, but I don't think they have been set out properly, my suggestion would be having the option to add swift runes to LEATHER horse armour AND only giving a potion effect of SPEED II I feel this would be beneficial for day-day travellers whom may not know how to use move craft and want a more traditional way to move around the map, this addition should be ONLY applied to leather amour (anything else I would consider overpowered).

Day-to-day travelers who don't know how to use movecraft are unlikely to know how to use runes, either. This would only benefit siege PvPers and you can just health pot your extremely fast horse during a fight which nullifies the disadvantage of leather horse armour.

This would just nerf existing movecraft as a means of travel even more and just make it easier for PvPers to get around to sieges and other locations.

I don't think it will affect pvp at all it would just have the same effect as splashing a horse with speed 2 now it would be the same as using swift pants. in pvp it would be more efficient to splash speed because you will be using diamond amour, you don't see people pvping in swift pants... and if you do someone's got to question there pvp choices, and people are still going to use speed pots on horses to travel on land, even if it doesn't have a swift
