Don't understand your point. Just contest regions?

Why would we contest a region if it just gives Rome the power to show up at Minami, Nishi, Vanghun, and Shimazu sieges? That’s not 'contesting', that’s handing them range to half the map.

I really don't think regions should give soi. It kinda defeats the point of trying to localize things if you can get range across the world.

I agree with many things pointed out in this suggestion, and once again, I think the forts that only exist for SoI reasons are also part of the problem if we are considering regions as an issue too. What I don't really understand is the extension of block limits to participate in a siege. If anything shouldn't it be limited even further, to avoid the issue with regions and SoI forts, and to contribute to making conflicts more regional?

Yeah i agree naval regions are just an op way to skip around making forts and sieging chain forts to reach enemies

The asian nations, japan, oe, russia aren't small and could contrst the regions. If they dont, then thats just their problem. And their choice. Just because a nation is strong and able to control most regions it doesnt mean that the nation has to be nerfed. How would that be fair play?

Fully agree with this suggestion, if SOI had been implemented from the start of nations it would be different, but seeing as though fort placements weren't made to take into account this game mechanic, for many nations the reward of gaining a region pales in comparison to the risk of letting the biggest superpower of the server have range to siege. many nations gain nothing from siegeing those regions.

I agree that SoI has not worked but not for the reasons you list here. You talk about not contesting a region meaning Siberium makes money after figbting a region once but that's just because it isn't contested... if it was contested they would at LEAST have to spend money on it let alone the possibility of taking it away... and how does contesting a region give Rome the power to show up to more sieges??? If you don't contest it'll only give them that range without a fight. Rome HAS the opportunity to get SoI on asia regardless of whether you contest or not if you're not contesting because you're scared of that it is not Rome's issue


SoI is a failure because it simply fails to regionalize conflicts while gatekeeping foreign sieges from people who liked attending them unless they town hop or their nation goes out of their way to get range on that fort, but the argument here with regions makes no sense

But respectfully, you just want to nerf Alliance because you aren't as strong currently and can't contest the regions. SoI is meant to be semi-realistic, and i think it's fair that if a nation can hold every naval region, it also deserves the SoI for it's strength. It's not a game-mechanic issue, but just an issue of balance currently. Coalition isn't benefitting as hard from it, because they did not lead any offensives yet and cannot lead any offensives, unless they siege Rome. I can understand your point, but all due respect, i think it should stay the way it is and not just nerf one side that you're against

Sorry I misread pacific for med but the point stands, there are regions absolutely dominated by legion/coa too and noone calls for pvp regions to remove soi

I would like to mention uncontested regions have been nerfed in the past. Pacific had its value cut after japan held it for awhile.

2 Siberium dominion does not keep the money from the Indian and Mediterranean regions, still dont see how this is relevant

Coping Suggestion, your point is that Siberium is profiting off of regions that you decide not to siege. If us having these regions is really that much of a problem, put your money into making new and better ports instead of sieging our forts.

nah oe rf and ij are so lazy and annoyed they cant win anything they would rather try and make a suggestion that would make it so they dont have to work for soi. if you want your allies to have soi on your fort get them to siege indian and pacific.

Gilly, did you read the suggestion? I specifically mention that if we siege it, Rome will take it and get range on us and it's GG. This is exactly what SOI is supposed to stop.

I would also like to note in here. Alliance leader are already actively telling everyone to specifically downvote this suggestion. Not because it would be genuinely better or worst for the server, but rather for their personal benefit.

maybe get your allies to siege it so they have soi on you. recruit and train people thats what my nation did for na i need that for my protection maybe do the same

I think SOI should be removed from regions (both pvp and movecraft)

10k Blocks range from capital and 5k blocks range from built/occupied forts.

I like the idea of SoI, but I think it was added in a bad moment. If they'd have added it at the beginning of the season it could have work out fine, but doing it on a 4 years old season has only helped bigger nations to have even more power than small ones that have to face stronger enemies with resources to get regions or more forts but they cant get help from their allies as before.

A fix to these problems would imo be to either
1) Remove SoI from all regions (pvp, tank and naval)
or 2) Require SoI for starting (possibly attending) regions, this could be done by adding naval influence range to forts or main port town types that give naval SoI.

In exchange to make regions useful, owning a theatre or a single region could give a claim bonus.

I also like the idea of applying the 10 000 block limit to attending sieges instead of just starting them.

Japan and OE have more than enough players and manufacturing capabilities to take Pacific from Siberium.

It's not anyone's fault that the regions have remained uncontested other than your own.

Also, frankly, a big issue is politics. Alliance, aside from CE, has remained relatively intact, while the Coalition has shattered into several smaller and less powerful factions within itself, often fighting each other for control of regions or fortresses. The inability to maintain a strong and cohesive band of nations due to it being a highly toxic environment isn't the problem of those that can.

Maybe if you spent less time posting 1,000 word cope suggestions about SOI and how it's the "Rome Update," and more time prepping, recruiting, training, and sieging, you might find that productivity and action get more done.

The thing i don't like about regions giving soi is that unlike every other way of getting it it skips you don't have to chain forts to get there or put your own fort and risk it getting sieged. And instead of needing to win a 2 day siege to move forward its a 30 min fight(Which a decent amount of the time is just at a bad time for one side and they can't contest it).

And whatever reason you believe is causing it regions are dead. No ones touching them. We gotta fix this.

The issue with regions is political, not mechanical. Quin has already proven that they can put up one hell of a fight for North and South Atlantic, so they're capable. They just don't due to crashouts when they lose.

If you can take the region than take the region if you can't than you have to deal with it. You keep saying that Rome will get the SOI if they take the region, but thracia or quin would to if they took the region. The coalition could have the same advantage that rome and the alliance would have if you tried to take the region.

Anyways plant, removing SOI from regions will make it less dead? The problem with regions is that they give nothing, apart from the tiny amount of money, they are not worth contesting. SOI gives another reason to contest the regions. Also I have no idea where Solomon got those numbers from as they are off.
