just build the fort before you toggle or build it while its nationless the only reason to want it reverted is to have an excuse to be unsiegeable as a preexisting nation

Zyshia you can claimblock said fort and stop it from toggling. if you have enemies its a problem

Claim blocking, the act of purposefully obstructing the expansion of a town by claiming land around it, is not allowed.

if you are worried about someone claiming too close by simply toggle it and have it nationless you do not need an unbuilt fort in your nation

Therefore, telurian leadership is banned due to them aiming to claim block the fort of ironhood. i hope you do remember when we had a whole claimblock war. If your also familiar with kokou expanding to claimmax beograd when we were changing the design. would you also define that as illegal? if you toggle and have it nationless you will not have enough claim blocks to make a fort.

if you toggle your fort while nationless, you cannot expand to the size required for most forts. if you join a nation and toggle it, you can be sieged instantly the next siege weekend giving NO time to prep or print the fort.

hello zaify, as someone who just made a fort that will habe to switch nations after toggling (iwf to venezuela), this new change puts me directly at an even larger disadvantage then before. before i wouldve had time to prep everything and habe the fort ready by the time someone is able to siege me, however with this change that is essentially thrown out of the window. i feel this isnt fair or balanced, especially towards smaller nations

Hi Zaify, this change ruins some "fort metas" such as having a townholder in it (since they cant just turn on ally perms and nation perms and be done with everything), spamming forts to evade siege (apparently this is meta) and the only valid problem i saw was not enough claims for a proper fort. Most of the comments here a pure cope. And maybe its time to make a new balance change to claimblocking, maybe with making the minimum distance between a new town like 12 chunks so they can claim freely (this is only for 24 hours after creation) this would make claimblocking useless and no one would cope. It seems to me that all this can be resolved by giving more claims to non-peaceful towns.

Dear Gege_01, you are also unable to fully prep print and fill a fort in 2 weeks. this ruins the meta and makes it almost impossible to make a good fort from now on.

Dear Bopboplittle, when Aetherion was made it was all printed in the first day, so no its not impossible, and you do not need your fort to be 100% filled for it to work cuz drilling is mostly impossible now (most alliance forts arent fully filled lol) and maybe think forward and prep everything you might need for a fort BEFORE you make it(except pots but thats lowk fast). And yes Zaify it would probably work with more claims for forts.

I don’t really see how this will do anything except delay people from either creating nations or joining a nation they are, without a new fort, out of range of. Metagaming should be dealt with on a case-by-case basis since circumstances vary substantially across different nations and groups. Additionally, this encourages people to get forts done faster, which for smaller nations with newer players means stress and encouraging no-lifing, neither of which are ideal. Maybe some nations with a dozen excelsiors can get a fort done in one day, but most can’t and shouldn’t be expected to get them done so fast. Established groups won’t be affected by this much, but it will make it harder for newer groups to make nations and serve to make nation-building even harder for them. Overall, though I understand staff want to discourage metagaming with this update, this doesn’t feel like a good way to go about it, and a better method, like making a new fort losing immunity depend on the immunity of other non-peaceful towns in the nation would be better to not make this harder on new nations/players.

hi kingstanchez, what happens if a fort in a claimline for instance decides they want to toggle. will the towns in the way have to delete the stuff there or what?

To expand on my last point, perhaps one way to solve this is have a town joining a nation make it lose immunity only if there is another unpeaceful town with either no immunity or less than a week of immunity already in that nation? This way, new nations literally don’t get affected at all, and it’s only an issue for pre-existing nations that really may be trying to metagame an advantage.

This suggestion is just crying over some people not being able to exploit immunity timers to hop around forts, everyone that took part in these schemes should get banned for exploiting the towny system of immunity, just hoping around forts, not even building them, just to dodge getting sieged a single time, and its not like occupation is that punishing either, zaify and the staff team made sure occupation was a light punishment as it was intended, but some people like to dodge it too so then don't question why changes like this get implemented

possible balance changes to make this new update fair for new and old players are..
1. Make this work for the second and after NON PEACEFUL TOWNS in your nation.
2. Shorten the siege immunity amount instead of deleting it when you join a nation, e.g, remove 14 days when you join a nation.
3. Increase town claimblocks when toggled.
4. Nation Immunity, when a nation is made the nation will have 40 days of immunity to be unsieged, then when a 2nd fort is made it is re-enabled for the 2nd toggled fort for 14 days , 3rd it is disabled.

I think this update solves alot of fort issues involving immunity. 2 weeks is more than enough time to print / fill and prep a fort imo . it would cost alot of $ but a fort is 100% a group / nation building experience. If its all on 1 or 2 people it wouldn't even get finished in the regular amount of time .

Immunity timers have been abused by far too long

Zaify this change will injure small nations a lot. I've planning with my team since September a fort design, we wanna make something unique and special, for doing so, we will need near 700 claims to claim it.

By buying all bonus claims and nation bonus we still will need to get 20-25 residents to have enough available claiming power to cover it all, with this change is absolutely impossible for us to make it come true, the printing process itself will take more than 650 parts (filled already due to the incompatibility with movecraft printers), so we will have to spend a lot of time getting it printed plus having to make now a movecraft base next to it at the same time because we will be siegeable right after leaving a nation for the claims and starting our own one.

Nations toggling new forts to being unsiegeable are clearly exploiting a mechanic of the server and they must be punished, but this change injures the community interested in making new nations while the solution should be punishing players exploiting.

doesnt it seem a BIT concerning that all the people with feelings against this, are coalition? Doesnt that worry anyone? Yes most of the people wanting this are allianve but several neutrals are also against this. This harms new and small nations. The big get bigger and the small get smaller.

the main argument coalition is giving against this is “skill issue imagine being small” this entire change is just fuelling their power.

I think both sides need to calm down and approach this discussion more rationally. We’re talking about an in-game mechanic, not anyone’s personal gameplay skill or status. People should take a step back, distinguish between different situations, and stop throwing around senseless arguments.

Bruv bopbop you know you aint gotta instantly toggle a fort and if i am not mistaken then if the fort is made before a town is “claimblocking sed fort” then the claimblocking town is either deleted by the untoggling of a fort and if it aint that way then just make a ticket to get it deleted. Barely any forts that are often sieged are 100% filled and surely if you are making a fort you know exactly what you need to print it from designing it. And you know to get prep and move it into the fort when it is made your point is legit pointless and just crying because you think it is bad.

If you are going to make a fort, you need to be locked in to print it/prep it. If you can't do the basic needs to have a fort, don't even bother having one lmao

There’s a difference between “we should stop metagaming” and “new nations need more than 2 weeks to make a fort.” Like ok maybe your nation can get a fort done in 2 weeks, but most can’t and shouldn’t be held to that standard? As I said previously the best way to fix this is to make it so joining a nation only makes you lose immunity if other unpeaceful towns in that same nation already have low/no immunity. This removes the penalty for new players trying to make a nation while preventing 42 day immunity metagaming.

I am going to be as honest as i can here.

if you are making a new nation on ccnet, you should already have enough items/resources to prep and make a fort. If you are making a new nation and wasting 15k or whatever it is it make it, its a them issue. Don't blame the staff team because someone wanted to make a nation and be broke as hell to even prep and get the fort ready.

I am going to downvote this because this change makes it so that nations are given two options:

Option A: Fort joins a nation, loosing their immunity timer and having to make a fort faster to avoid being sieged.
PRO: free claims no residents needed
CON: can be sieged almost immediately

Option B: Fort stays nationless, gathers residents, has immunity timer and can prepare.
PRO: immunity timer
CON: residents needed

And, of course, it makes it so there won't be the new meta of forts everywhere and I am happy. ( I hope I said everything correctly it's a bit late for me, sleepy )

you need claims to make a good fort, if you stay nationless you get none but have an immunity timer, meaning msot of that immunity is used up by the time you have the residents to make a fort, this also means a nation CANT be made for a lot of time, causing you to miss out on some buffs that come with nations, e.g. sieges. choosing to join a nation is the exact same amount of time, meaning you have to prep even faster, causing new players to not want to, causing their nation to die, instead of changing the mechanics to restrict fort swapping for immunity, you should instead enforce rules to stop it from happening, a new rule for immunity abusing would be nice (if it doesnt already come under occupation evading), this would help a lot more than just changing the mechanics to restrict it but also restricting new players and making them want to not play anymore, its not healthy for the server.

I believe the change Zaify did was done after careful thought and I will support it. More, this change brings less dullness to the server, which has been stuck in the same war since 2023! There has to be a change because this war is unacceptable due to the duration and it is becoming more and more boring.

I think non-peaceful towns having more claim blocks should fix more problems. And bopbop Nations are SUPPOSED to be difficult to maintain and create. Its not a one man thing you can prep a fort under 2 weeks easily if you have people doing it Aetherion and cerb are examples. You're not suppsoed to create new nations if you're broke. If you want to create a nation you need a team people etc

i believe this change is positive to a certain degree but it makes making new nations harder just as people said above just give towns get more townblocks when theyre not in nation but id say make it as bonus claims instead that you have to pay for thatd be nice
